Bestival 2011 Hoopla!!!

So Never Never was at Bestival 2011! My friends and i managed to see pretty much all the acts we wanted to that include Greg Wilson, DJ Slip Matt, DJ Shadow, James Blake, Fenech Soler, Maverick Saber, Kelis, Zola Jesus, Brian Wilson, Magnetic Man, Pendulum, Crystal Castles, The Japanese Popstars, Kevin Saunderson & Derrik May, Claude VonStroke, Santigold, The Cure, Public Enemy

Hightlights where surprisingly the Village People who where the most fun i've had in ages. They performed on the Saturday which is fancy dress day so the vibe was already very flamboyant! Starting off with 'Macho Man' was genius and got us all going. There must have been 10 thousand people camping it up for the whole of the set finishing with YMCA. It was awesome!

Other stuff that was really good was Santigold on Thursday eve, having not been that mad into her stuff before i am now officially a fan, the live set was wicked! She had everyone jumping from the first to the last beat! Zola Jesus was good on the sunday, she has a wicked stage presence that i think she's built a career on because some of her tunes are not that good. Obviously The Cure was breathtaking! the started off with my two favorite Cure songs as well, 'Disintegration' followed by 'Fascination Street' so i was completely locked in for the rest of the 2 hour show. Public Enemy was a lot of fun, Flava Flave talked a lot about his new book which was a truely amarican way to put a show on but Chuck D was spectacular with his rhymes not skipping a beat. i was a bit dissapointed they didn't play a couple of my all time favorite tunes, 'Public Enemy No1' or 'Sex, Drugs and Violence' But they did play 'Harder than you think' which i managed to get a small clip of!

The rest of the festival was spent at the bar or lying on the grass laughing.

Things that where shit where Grand Master Flash who played a 'live' set on a laptop.... not what you expect from the man who supposedly invented turntable mixing and Midnight Beast! WTF! end of.

Can't wait for next year... i'm hopeing for The Beastie Boys as a headliner!
